The May Project is Aucklander Katie Brown's musical branch: it goes hand in hand with her fashion label, Etta Every. She designs collections and writes music to tell the story of a particular concept: the costume and soundtrack to a plot, if you will.

Ethereal, layered vocals (inspired by Katie's background in choral and classical music) floating on a bed of layered, percussive synths, guitars and beats form the backbone of The May Project's sound.

To date, The May Project has been steadily releasing tracks either in conjunction with Etta Every collections, or as part of projects by The Every Conservatoire (a collective formed by Katie for exploring particular concepts and stories across different creative mediums in collaboration with other artists).

The releases have been regularly playlisted on various student stations across New Zealand, such as Auckland's 95bfm and Christchurch's RDU98.5fm.
